Manager
Parenting 2000 is looking to employ a proactive and experienced Manager who is able to multi task in a diverse environment to join and support the management team deliver on its Service Level Agreements, develop Centres and manage teams.  Initially this post is funded from October 2016 until 31st March 2017 during which time additional funding will be sought.  This post is for 21 hours per week.

Course Co-ordinator
Parenting 2000 is looking for an enthusiastic committed person to join their Speakeasy & FAD Team to further the role of Speakeasy fpa (Family Planning Association) a sexual health course for parent/carers in targeted areas in Sefton and support the delivery of Parenting’s established course FAD (Facts about Alcohol & Drugs). This role is funded through Southport & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust and John Moore’s Foundation. This post is initially funded from October 2016 until 31st March 2017 for 17.5 hours per week during which time additional funding will be sought.

In addition to the above roles we are also hoping to strengthen our Board of Trustees and bring in additional skills and viewpoints. If you think this role would be one to which you could bring a new perspective, please let us know by sending us your CV.

Some of the responsibilities involved in the work of a Trustee are indicated below:

Trustees have overall control of a charity and are responsible for making sure it’s doing what it was set up to do.

Trustees are the people who lead the charity and decide how it is run.

Being a trustee means making decisions that will impact on people’s lives – making a difference to the local community

Trustees use their skills and experience to support their charities, helping them achieve their aims

Trustees should:

  1. Ensure the charity is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit
  2. Compliance with the charity’s governing document and the law
  3. Act in the charity’s best interests
  4. Manage the charity’s resources responsibly
  5. Act with reasonable care and skill
  6. Ensure the charity is accountable

Whilst the time commitment is not onerous we are looking for people who can bring skills to complement the existing Board and will take an active interest in the work of Parenting 2000. There is no financial reward associated with becoming a Trustee but you will be contributing to improving services to families in Sefton in a proactive and meaningful way.
