Child Home Safety Equipment
Accidental injuries are a major health problem throughout the United Kingdom.
Every year more than 5000 people die in accidents in the home. Those most at risk are the 0-4 age group. Most accidents are preventable through increased awareness, improvements in the home environment and greater product safety.
Sefton’s Family Wellbeing Centres provide a service to arrange the installation of child home safety equipment to families across the borough. One of the long term objectives is to promote the understanding of the importance of safety in the home.
Equipment available includes: safety gates, fire guards, window locks, cupboard locks, cord winders, bath mats and corner cushions.
