Family Support Practitioners
The purpose of our the support to people from our Family Support Practitioners are to prevent any issues from getting worse by offering families support at the right time.
Families in Sefton can be offered support from our experienced Family Support Practitioners to help them through difficulties when advice and support may be needed. It works best when offered to the whole family and when services are delivered jointly by professionals.
Family Support Practitioners act as the family’s single point of contact. They can offering support , guidance and advocacy, focusing on overcoming some of the problems families may have. This involves the Family Support Practitioner focusing and delivering high quality support and interventions to families with complex interconnected problems. These problems include:
- unemployment and financial instability,
- poor school attendance,
- mental and physical health problems,
- involvement in crime and antisocial behaviour,
- domestic abuse and poor family relationships,
- children who are at risk of abuse and exploitation, substance misuse and insecure housing.
Our Family Support Practitioners are experienced in working with families who have complicated backgrounds. We aim to work together with families to create life long support networks that they can build independently. The ultimate goal is to empower and enable families to develop their own solutions and develop resilience.
We work with many families across the Sefton area who are struggling.
Our staff are approachable and comforting and we can arrange to meet within the comfort of your own home, so you don’t even need to leave the sofa!
Our family support team help families to get back on track and get to where they wanted to be.
